Festival Strategy, Payam Maddah

Goal:
My festival goals are first, to get reviewed and interviewed to create buzz. Second making networks with filmmakers especially with Iranian filmmakers in USA and Canada. Third selling the movie, if there is a possibility!
I believe there are some parameters in Birds Don't Fly Anymore's story that could bring the movie into attention of some domestic and foreign festivals.
The parameters like, the main character is a Muslim, a refugee and a woman who wants to take revenge from a US soldier. The Antagonist is an US soldier that has killed a Muslim child and the story happens in the USA. In addition The director is from Iran, known as a country that supports terrorists.

strategy:
I will follow and try three different routes to reach my goals.

1. I'll submit Birds Don't Fly Anymore into major festivals.
2. I'll submit Birds Don't Fly Anymore into the festivals that they have a separate category for the human rights films.
3. I'll submit Birds Don't Fly Anymore into the Iranian film festivals around the world, especially the ones in USA and Canada. Also the film festivals that are located in the cities who Iranians and Afghans immigrants live there, like NY, SF, LA, Montreal, Toronto and Melbourne.
